Introduction

I congratulate on your decision to become a Certified Project Manager. Taking the decision is the first step towards a big journey. This blog should definitely help you to achieve your objective.

I started this today.. Using "Progressive Elaboration", let me guide you in delivering the Project on time, cost and meeting customer's acceptance criteria.

I try to present the content from a Project manager's view. Not from a trainer's view point. As you would agree, we all (the non trainers, I mean) have started our life as a Developer (in case of IT Industry) or Site Engineer (in Construction Field) etc. We grew with our age and by experience. We started climbing the corporate ladder one step at a time.

There are two things in life you love as well as hate: Wife (if you are a male) and Boss. We have seen how Project Managers lead teams, get respect from the customer and senior management. We wonder about their authority, commanding us towards the work etc. We admire them as well as hate them because of the reporting hierarchy. Anyway, the first thing that would strike us is the Authority. Project Manager without authority is like remote controlled Prime Minister of world's largest democracy.

To be authoritative, you need Confidence. Confidence in yourself, your abilities, your team, the PMI Framework you are going to follow etc.

Confidence wins half of the battle. So lets confidently start our Project.
